Law of Attraction, Step 3 Part 2
Continuing Series on Law of Attraction and how to make it work.
In the last post, I started to explain about the Art of Allowing. Since this is the most critical, and least understood or practiced, part of the Law of Attraction, we’ll be talking about this a lot!
Myths about Allowing
You’re probably skeptical about this “Allowing” idea: “If it were so easy, everyone would be doing it!” Everyone IS doing it, but because they didn’t set their desires and beliefs up properly beforehand, they’re receiving an abundance what they think they don’t want, or more importantly, they’re pushing away the very things they DO want. There are a lot of misconceptions about the art of allowing that need to be understood and released so that you can practice it fully and completely.
1. It promotes greed and self-centeredness
Actually, it doesn’t. From the perspective of our society’s worship of hard work and being hard on yourself, it may look that way from the outside. But when you begin to learn more about it, you discover that it’s based on caring for yourself, accepting yourself, gratitude for what you already have, positive thinking, and compassion. We all deserve the best that life has to offer. And desire for those things isn’t wrong – it’s activating your birthright to live a joyful and fulfilling life. The law of attraction is NOT about competing with anyone else or taking it away from others. It’s the belief that you can choose to live and love in a space of open receiving of what you were meant to do and have in this lifetime.
2. It is all woo-woo, hocus pocus
The law of attraction is a universal law, just like the law of gravity. Philosophical and religious masters, such as Lao-Tzu and the Buddha, for centuries, have told us that we are what we think. And now with the new technological advances and more understanding of how our brains and the energy of the world works, we are learning more each day about how the law of attraction impacts our daily lives. The field of quantum mechanics explains much of the science behind this law. Although getting into the details of the science behind it is beyond the scope of this ebook, you can easily find quality information on the scientific details in books or movies such as What the Bleep: Down the Rabbit Hole.
3. It is difficult and takes too much effort
What is too much effort? Is it too much effort to get the life you want? Activating the law of attraction to work for you does take “effort,” if you’re not used to paying attention to your thoughts and feelings. When you do, it makes your life better and easier. There are clear and simple activities you can use to create the life you want by deliberately participating in what you manifest. These simple actions will yield the best results if done consistently, but they aren’t difficult or even time consuming. They just need to become part of your daily routine. And since they are enjoyable, that’s usually not hard to do.
4. It promotes laziness and giving up
In our “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps” culture, encouragement to go with the flow seems counterintuitive. But rather than laziness or giving up, the art of allowing encourages you to take inspired action – taking action that you are guided to take. Not the constantly in motion “doing” that leads to frustration, disappointment, and exhaustion. There’s a big difference between riding the wave of life’s energy flow and being a lazy bum who expects everything to fall into his lap when he asks for it. You will learn as we go along that we create our own reality, whether consciously or unconsciously. If you would rather consciously choose what you get out of life, you will need to give up your idea of control and allow the Universe to work for you.
